Peoria is getting a new grocery store. Officials from Hy-Vee Inc. announced Thursday plans to build a store in Sheridan Village Shopping Center. It will be the first Hy-Vee in Peoria and the 12th store in Illinois. Officials say it will be 84,000 square feet with an attached store for wines and spirits. They say it will bring 400 new jobs to the city. Several stores in the center section of the mall will be torn down with the tenants moving to other location in the Sheridan Village to make room for the store. Officials say a timeline of construction will be set once the city of Peoria gives final approval for the store.
