Komen Race About Survivors And Hope

One of the reasons for Saturday's annual Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure is Beth Reynolds.  She lives in Bartonville and is employed at Methodist Medical Center.  And she was a participant in Saturday's survivor  tribute march.  Reynolds was among thousands of other survivors who joined the ceremonial walk as they try to outlast the effects of breast cancer.  Reynolds says the yearly survivor walk gives her hope.  Reynolds walked with two of her co-workers who are also recovering from the disease. An estimated 19,000 participated in the 4 running and walking events.  About 15-hundred volunteers assisted in the 23rd annual Race For The Cure.  Event Co-chair Beck Auer says work has already started on the 2009 Race For The Cure.  She says the date is easy to remember, May 9 of '09.
