PACVB hopes people visiting for fireworks will make a day of it

The President of the Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is hoping people check out the rest of the area while in town for the fireworks Friday. Brent Lonteen says over 100,000 people are expected to be in Peoria and East Peoria for the "Methodist Red, White and Boom" fireworks display.
Lonteen says this will pull people from all over Central Illinois. He said it will draw people from a couple of hours away due to the size of the show.
Lonteen hopes people will come down to the area and make at day of it. The hope is they visit Peoria and East Peoria restaurants and o shopping before heading down to the riverfront for the fireworks display.
Lonteen says a big draw this year is the fact that it is a three day festival with concerts Thursday and Saturday.
