Pirates even record at 2-2

(From Peoria Pirates) The swagger returns to Peoria! The Peoria Pirates racked up eleven touchdowns in a 76-32 victory over the Tri-Cities Fever in front of 2,962 fans at Carver Arena in Peoria Saturday night. The Pirates (2-2) put up huge numbers, and the Peoria defense locked down hard on the visiting Tri-Cities (0-4) team.
Leading the attack for the victorious Pirates was QB Justin Rascati. His 13-for-26 passing was good enough for two scores and 188 yards. His primary targets were Phillip Brock, eight receptions for 141 yards, and Robert Garth, who caught seven passes for 111 yards. The Pirates scored five touchdowns via the rush, with Doc Gooden running twice for 36 yards and a score while Phillip Brock carried seven times for a net of 20 yards and an amazing four TD’s.
The Pirates hit the road and travel to Florida Saturday to meet the Firecats. The game will be a rematch of the 2004 Arena Cup Championship won by Florida over the Pirates. The Firecats are 4-0 on the season after a 51-41 win at South Georgia Saturday. Live coverage on 1470 WMBD begins Saturday at 6:00 p.m. - or, in progress, after Cardinals baseball. The Pirates return home Saturday, May 10th at 7:05 p.m. against division rival Green Bay. |
