JMP Radio Group has a three-day celebration lined up this weekend for the Independence Day holiday weekend.  The grand event is the "Methodist Red White and Boom" on Friday night after dusk downtown on the Peoria and East Peoria riverfronts. Big name musical acts Cheap Trick performs at Festival Park Thursday and Diamond Rio plays on The Landing on Saturday night.  As for the events leading up to the Red White and Boom Friday, JMP Radio Group Promotions Director Dirk Clemens says there will be plenty to do.  102.3 MAX FM will hold a "Guitar Hero" contest at Festival Park.  The band "Just  Kickin' It" will perform at the riverfront Gazebo. Clemens says bring a radio to watch the "Methodist Red White and Boom", because the show is synchronized to music played on JMP stations. Clemens advises patience when leaving after the show because crowd predictions run anwhere from 100 to 200 thousand people in attendance Friday night.
