A recent $1.7 million dollar deal signed by Governor Rod Blagojevich has armed local and state law enforcement with the funds they need to keep the roads safe this Fourth of July. Safety education trooper Tony Halsey notes that the anniversary of our Nation's nativity falls on a Friday this year, meaning police will have roadside safety checks set up all weekend. "We'll be out in full force," says State Trooper Tony Halsey. Law enforcement officials hope citizens do the smart thing this weekend and designate a sober driver before they go out.
