Garfield Primary school was put on lockdown for about a half hour Friday afternoon as a precautionary measure.  Peoria Police received a call of shots fired about 2:40 pm in Logan Park at South Lydia and Humbolt which is adjacent to the school.  Peoria Police along with Peoria Park District Police investigated the area while the students were held in their classrooms. Peoria Public Schools Police Chief Ronnie Scales says school officials took quick action to secure the school. Students were released at about the same time school was to let out at 3:15 pm.  The incident is still under investigation.
